Alex Tyson is a C.H.A.  certified  Riding instructor and horse trainer in the Southeast Michigan Area. Growing up with a very multifaceted background Alex has extensive experience in both the English and western styles and gives instruction to students of all ages and skill levels in both disciplines.

Alex's expertise is in barrel and gaming horses  as well as colt-starting and problem horses. Alex has trained 4 NBHA( National Barrel horse Association) world qualifying horses and many at the amateur and 4-h levels. Alex's horses and students can be seen racing around clocking 1D times, getting equestrian team high points, and winning at turn N burns.

A child protege of sorts at colt-starting Alex broke out her first colt at age 12, and has since then apprenticed with Ken McNabb star of RFDTV's "Discovering the Horseman within" and  a Road to the Horse Competitor. Ken's training philosophies have a large influence in Alex's training program today. Alex has an innate ability to see the best in a horse and the root of the problem when others can't, and understands that all problems have a root. A "no-short-cuts" kind of trainer Alex is determined to give horses all the time they need to understand fully and calmly what is being asked of them, before moving to the next step.

A classicist at heart Alex has a huge respect for the classical riding style. Thus, all students, no matter what their riding preference learn to ride English first to develop balance and correct body control. Walk, trot, and canter without stirrups must also be reached before starting higher level work such as learning the speed events, lateral work, or jumping.
